RALPH GRACIE JIU JITSU UNDERWENT A TRANSFORMATION AND LOOKS AMAZING FOR 2010!!
A huge thank you goes put to all of those who helped make the academy look as great as it does, we couldn't have done it without your efforts. Many team members came out to help make all of the new changes to the academy, and all of the hard work really paid off. The new check-in counter and waiting areas made a major difference to the appearance when you walk in and the academy looks massive inside! We also relocated the frame for the heavy bags, so that striking workouts will be even more effective and fun now!! In addition, you will notice new colors and a new paint scheme inside of the academy, which looks awesome thanks to Alan Joyce and his company, AJ Painting, who did a great job! If you have yet to see all of the new changes to the academy, come in and check it out!! A huge thanks goes out to Jed Brown, Josh Hinds, Ken Carpenter, Jason Cronjager, Laura Rodriguez, Newton Casemiro, Alan Joyce, Michael Joyce, Josh Joyces, Nicole Lichtenstein, Eder Santos, Leo Labiak, Fred Labiak, Daniel Balaba, and Peter and Nia Doyle for all out your hard work!! We can't wait to see the look on everyone's face as they see the new changes and get ready to have amazing training and lots of fun in 2010!! |

Ralph Gracie has been a champion fighter for over ten years and has been called one of the best ground fighters in the world. He has fought in major events including Extreme Fighting and Pride Bushido. He was born into and has studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over twenty years. Any of his competitors can tell you that Ralph is here to do one thing - WIN! Ralph has dedicated his life to teaching the incredible fighting system known around the world today as Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He currently has 7 academies in California which are all run by Black Belts directly under him. Along with spending time with his family, Ralph frequently trains and spends time at all of his academies. He also visits his brother Renzo's academy in New York from time to time. Ralph's focus on his teachings consist of learning the techniques, executing them correctly, training and more training. He has said more than once "It is better to die than not train." His fighting style backs this theory as well as his teaching delivery. Ralph's 1995 American fighting debut was featured in the short-lived Battlecade Extreme Fighting events. Gracie easily won fights versus Makoto Murauko, Steve Nelson, and Ali Mihoubi, the longest of which lasted a mere minute and thirty-four seconds. Despite Gracie's obvious success, critics are now quick to point out that MMA competitions in this period were still in its infancy. It would take the competition several years to catch up to the Gracie approach to ground fighting. He holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt and has an amazing competitive record of 71 wins with no losses. |
